Description
A Northern Song fish-shaped ornament carved in the round from transparent rock crystal. The fish has a curved body, a rounded head and an extended, slender tail. Circular incisions mark the eyes, intersecting incised lines represent the scales on the body and belly, and fine incisions articulate the fins and tail. A hole pierces the mouth; the object may have formed part of an accessory.
